Ecosystems & Livelihoods: A Climate Change Solution
YPS’s climate change project focuses on demonstrating how strengthening the link between ecosystems and livelihoods can effectively combat desertification. This initiative, exemplified by the successful Devrai project, showcases practical strategies for restoring degraded lands and improving the well-being of communities affected by desertification, highlighting the interconnectedness of environmental health and economic stability. The next phase of this work will explore regenerative agriculture practices, including organic farming methods, further deepening the understanding of how to create sustainable and resilient ecosystems while enhancing the livelihoods of local communities. YPS | Education
SCOPE is an Educational Lab established for 22 Villages. Education in the Jalihal area faced numerous limitations due to its remoteness, lack of access, and other resource constraints. YPS addressed these challenges by pioneering digital schooling in 2005 with the establishment of the state’s first rural digital school, the School of Progressive Education (SCOPE)
In 2014, YPS further bolstered educational opportunities by establishing a Junior College of Science to support local students. Beyond academics, YPS promotes gender equality, sports, exposure visits, free computer and internet access, participation in international exchange programs, and activities like table tennis and chess. These initiatives help students gain additional confidence and skills.
SCOPE plays a pivotal role in guiding students towards choosing better career paths for successful futures. Read more

Note From Designer
This is my best attempt to show you all what YPS have been working on and what we are excited about upcoming future. However, its impossible for me to make you feel what I feel in Jalihal, a classic Indian country side.
Its partly because of lack of man power and partly my lack of ability to design the website. So, here is an open invite to anyone reading this, Come Visit Jalihal! its beautiful, sunny, spacious and the people are super generous!
P.S. If you want to help us design better websites, please reach out pranjal@yeralaproject.org
